Reflexology in Pregnancy

A natural, de-stressing and comforting treatment to support the body through pregnancy

Pregnancy is an amazing journey!

Reflexology and pregnancy go hand in hand together through the entire cycle. Starting with fertility, to pregnancy, then moving on to labour and post-natal support.

Nearly everyone can benefit from having Reflexology during pregnancy
— The Association of Reflexologists

Reflexology for Fertility

Reflexology Fertility is a natural therapy for couples trying for a baby. Reflexology and fertility is interlinked as relaxation and rebalancing helps to prepare the female body and the male body for conception during what is an emotional time.

Your Reflexology Fertility treatments may help ease these stresses and strains that you may be experiencing pre-conception.

Reflexology in Pregnancy

Pregnancy causes your body to experience significant natural changes which affect the emotional, hormonal and physiological balance of your body. Reflexology treatments while pregnant are relaxing and provide the support the body needs to rebalance.

The aim of my technique is to optimise your physical and emotional health to support your body during the pregnancy and to help prepare your body for birth.

Reflexology also gives you precious time away from your busy life where you are able to purely focus on yourself and your growing baby.

I received a number of reflexology sessions from Lou during my pregnancy and was thoroughly impressed by her technique and professionalism”

Each appointment includes pregnancy related techniques plus address any personal symptoms you may be experiencing.

The treatment plan will change as we follow your pregnancy month by month to ensure that you, your body and your baby get the most from every session.

REFLEXOLOGY TREATMENTS ARE AVAILABLE ONLY AFTER YOU HAVE BEEN PREGNANT FOR 3 MONTHS.

Reflexology for Labour

At the final stage of pregnancy some expectant mums choose to use reflexology to help bring on labour. Specific Reflexology techniques are used to relax the body and encourage the start of labour in a naturally way.

reflexology techniques will only be given if the baby is full term and the mother is proven to be overdue.

Reflexology Post Natal

Reflexology rebalances your hormones and your body to help you cope with the roller-coaster of emotions you will feel after your baby is born. In addition, Reflexology helps with the the tiredness and stress that can come after the birth and the experience of living with a new baby!

Additional important information

Maternity Reflexology Disclaimer

It is very important that you see a fully qualified and experienced maternity reflexology specialist such as myself as there are some points that are not permitted to be worked during certain stages of pregnancy. Maternity Reflexology is not recommended if there is a history of premature labour, severe hypertension, placenta previa or recent vaginal bleeding.  If you are receiving fertility treatment, like IVF, you will not be able to have Reflexology whilst taking the drugs as it can interfere with the effects of the fertility drugs.

In all cases, Reflexology does not replace Doctor/Midwifery advice and a consent from your GP/Midwife may be required. If you suspect any problems in your pregnancy it is important to contact your doctor or midwife.
